It was expensive and slow, and customizing it was either limited or a project of its own. Open source software and modern development tools changed that. A team of one or two people can now give a small business enterprise-level infrastructure and support, build it quickly, and make it fit exactly how you work.
The alternative is paying for off-the-shelf software and then either bending it to fit your business or bending your business to fit it. Having software built around how you work is the better deal now, and it costs a lot less than most owners expect.
We’re not new to this. Tyler is a Marine Corps veteran with a computer science degree from Colorado State, and he was the founding engineer at an AI startup before starting ContraptionSoft.
